Less weight, without giving up more
An umbrella worth carrying every day should not trade away a rib or useful coverage simply to become lighter. THE MONSTER SPEC® FOLDING UMBRELLA keeps six ribs and an 82 cm canopy, then assigns different materials to strength, heat protection and storage.

Redesigned from the essentials
The maker began with two essential requirements: enough canopy to cover the body, and a folded form small and light enough to carry every day. Rather than remove ribs or reduce coverage, the ribs, center shaft and fabric were each reconsidered so low weight, heat protection and durability could work together.
Lightweight, heat-protective and durable
A folding umbrella needs useful coverage and easy portability. For use in both sun and rain, it also needs heat protection and water resistance. MONSTER SPEC® reworks the ribs, center shaft and fabric so these requirements can coexist.
Six ribs and an 82 cm canopy
Many ultralight umbrellas reduce the number of ribs and, with them, the available coverage. This design retains six ribs and an 82 cm canopy while weighing approximately 124.5 g in black and 165.9 g in white.
Materials matched to the load
The main ribs use a U-beam structure. Carbon fiber is used at the outer ribs where bending loads concentrate, while anodized aluminum supports the central base ribs and braces, balancing rigidity and weight.
A three-section telescopic shaft
The shaft measures 9.2 mm, 7.8 mm and 6.5 mm across its three sections from the handle outward. Longitudinal grooves reinforce the two slimmer sections while allowing thinner walls.
HEATBLOCK® 20D ripstop fabric
HEATBLOCK® is a heat-protective textile developed for sun umbrellas by the long-established umbrella maker アンベル株式会社. Dense 20-denier ripstop uses a fine reinforcement grid to help limit the spread of a tear, while a special light-blocking PU coating covers the reverse. The fabric, light-blocking layer and PU coating form a three-layer structure that the maker states is less than 0.09 mm thick, balancing a slim, lightweight construction with shade, heat protection, water repellency and durability.

Heat insulation: 55% white / 35% black, a fabric-test measure of reduced solar heat transfer.

These are fabric-test figures published by the maker. Perceived performance can vary with sunlight, ambient temperature, use angle and canopy coverage.
Made for sun and rain
Easy-Dry water-repellent treatment was developed by アンベル株式会社. According to the maker, finely dispersed repellent penetrates the fibers instead of remaining only on the surface. Published third-party test information states that water repellency remains after 20 wash cycles, while the reverse-side PU coating also helps resist rain passing through. These results apply under the stated test conditions; actual performance varies with use, friction and care.
White for insulation, black for lightness
White (heat-insulation model) reflects more visible and near-infrared light. It has a stated heat-insulation rate of 55% and weighs approximately 165.9 g.
Black (lightweight model) has a stated heat-insulation rate of 35% and weighs approximately 124.5 g—around 40 g less than the white model.
Designed for smoother everyday use
Ribs that fold with the shaft
This is a manually operated umbrella, not a push-button automatic model. Extending the shaft opens the rib joints; retracting it folds them together, reducing the need to arrange each rib by hand.
A roomier cylindrical sleeve
The sleeve deliberately leaves a little extra room, making the umbrella easier to put away when time is short.
A generous elastic wrist loop
The ABS handle has a matte black PU coating and CNC-engraved branding at its base. A natural round elastic loop, approximately 120 mm per side, slips comfortably over the wrist.

Use and storage notes
Before folding, smooth and arrange the canopy along its folds. Do not grip or compress it forcefully while the fabric is crumpled, caught around the frame or not yet arranged; repeated rubbing against frame projections or metal parts may increase the chance of scratches, damage or small holes. Fasten the hook-and-loop strap and place the folded umbrella in its supplied sleeve.
The stated 100% light-blocking and UV-protection figures are fabric test results measured under JIS L 1925 and JIS L 1055-A. They do not represent the performance of the complete umbrella under every condition of use.
Small color differences may occur between fabric lots, cutting positions, the canopy and its sleeve. These are characteristics of the manufacturing process and do not affect product quality or performance.
